DJ Blackout is one of the fastest emerging top-level DJ’s in the Boston Area. Fully intent on pursuing a career as a lawyer, the reality and opportunity of being a DJ approached DJ Blackout just recently in the end of Summer 2009.
In that short period of time, through hard work, and tireless practice DJ Blackout has put himself amongst the ranks of some of the hottest DJ’s in the area. During the past few months, DJ Blackout has already performed at various colleges, universities, and clubs around the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as venues in Providence and Atlanta, with upcoming events in New York, Baltimore, and Florida. DJ Blackout is also the newest member of the well-known DJ team the “Mix Kings”. DJ Blackout has made much of his progress through his unprecedented roll as the personal DJ of So-So Def’s DJ Dru Nyce, who was an early inspiration for DJ Blackout’s DJ style. DJ Blackout style executes the mixing and blending of tracks while taking audiences on a ride through a library consisting of Hip-Hop, Dancehall/Reggae, Top 40, Kompa, Zouk, Pasada, Reggaeton, Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, and more. Although DJ Blackout is still pursuing a career as a lawyer, he also has goals of becoming a radio DJ, and eventually being represented by major record label.
“I’m just trying to keep up with how fast this DJ thing is moving. I still have A LOT to learn and won’t stop until I reach where I need to be. Success is my only option.”
